Humble Beginnings in the Construction Trades Lead Me Here

As a youngster I was fortunate to be shown my way around a workshop by my Grandfather, whom I called "Pa". Many days we spent tinkering around with small engines, fixing things around he and my grandmother's home, and spending hours & hours across the street at his best friend's Service Station, where I got to have any candy I wanted after helping fetch tools for the guys in the shop.

On the other side of our family, unfortunately I never knew my grandfather as he suffered an untimely passing years before I was even a thought. Despite this, his legacy as a Builder & Estimator in the family construction company subtly became ingrained in me over the years spent at he & my grandmother's beautiful home (completed in 1905). My cousins & I were fascinated with all the old school, hand-powered carpenter's tools in his sprawling basement workshop. Over time, we all eventually used many of the tools to help around her home. Even to this day we all carry pieces of their legacies with us as we all are in the construction trades in one fashion or another, and one of my cousins actually still lives in that amazing old house!

So, it comforts me greatly to follow in the footsteps of my elders' in my daily work life. I get to carry forward their legacy remembering bits of instruction that hasn't changed in decades, use their spirit of innovation in resolving problems, and providing my clients the comfort of knowing someone is close to take good care of them.
